'96 Aurora A/C Diagnostics Mode?

With the beginning of spring just around the corner, my HVAC seems to be having a problem regulating the temperature in AC mode. I have to turn the temp down to 60 - then everything cools wonderfully.
Wondering if I have a bad sensor and wanted to enter diagnostics mode to check everything out and hopefully avoid a trip to the dealership.
Anyone have a shop manual that describes how to activate the diagnostic mode and what the various readings measure - including operational acceptable ranges?
Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions...
Thanks -

I'll answer my own question.
Checking the ALLDATA online database, it states that the only way to access the HVAC diagnostic mode is using a scantool with HVAC capabilities.
Funny - my 1990 Chevrolet has the ability to enter diagnostics by pressing several buttons on the dash and displaying the results on the LCD control panel.
Oh Well.....

Did you check your exterior temp sensor under the front "bumper". Mine was taken out by a woodchuck at 75 mph and my climate cotrol did lotsa crazy stuff.
