just installed a new power steering pump, and everything seemed to be fine. but when driving the car the power assist does not kick in until 2000rpm's.... anyone have any advice on what might be the problem?

Did you flush the system correctly? Did you clean out the screen in the PS reserviour? Did you use the right fluid?
