Infinity Factory Sound System01 LXi Coupe 03-19-2004, 12:29 PM I recently purchased a 2001 Sebring LXi Coupe with the Infinity system. I'm adding an aftermarket subwoofer. I already bought my amp, wiring kit, speaker leavel converter (for preouts), wires, all that stuff. The problem I'm having is locating the fatory Infinity amplifier. Where is it? Also, what can I connect my remote wire from my amp to? It's supposed to go to the remote/accesory/power antenna wire from the Infinity amp/head unit, but I looked throughout the car and behind the head unit and can't find this wire. Can I wire it to anything else to get my turn-on signal for the amp? Please help. Thanks. 96Bring 04-05-2004, 12:15 PM The Infinity amp is mounted @ the top of your trunk, it's between your rear speakers. And if you can't find the remote wire from the back of the radio, then i believe the only other alternative is to plug it directly to the fuse that goes to your radio from your fuse box. I haven't actually did this w/my BRING, but i did it in my last car and it worked fine. HOPE THIS HELPS! brett46311 04-16-2004, 03:15 PM Mine is under the passenger seat. I have a 97 01 LXi Coupe 04-30-2004, 11:25 AM Howdy guys. The Infinity amp is mounted under the passenger's seat. I had to get a line level convertor to run to my rear 6x9's in order to get preouts for my amp. To complete the installation of an aftermarket amp for a "premium" factory system, you'll need to do the following: 1. You'll need a line level convertor to get your preamp outputs becuase the factory HU does not have them (not a huge burden; I found one at wal-mart for $30. You can also buy them from Crutchfield for the same price). 2. Tap into your rear deck 6x9's and wire them to the line level convertor. Make sure that anything you run to the line level convertor is after the HU wiring. Don't wire your convertor to the head unit or you will blow out the convertor. You could tap into the wire from the amp going to the speakers, but accessing the speaker wire is much easier. 3. Wire your amp as you normally would and run the preouts to the convertor. Make sure that your preouts and you power cable are on opposite sides of the vehicle or its possible that you will receive interference. I hope this helps anyone interested in car audio on the Sebring. I know when I went looking for information, that there wasn't much available. Thanks! whitelightdevil 06-26-2004, 01:38 PM I actually just put a system in my '01 sebring. All we bought was a wiring harness for my new deck and the wiring kit for the subs and amp. We just connected everything as it was on the back of the factory deck, and didn't need anything specific for the factory amp. I don't know if this helps much, but I know we didn't need to locate it or anything, and it all seems to run just fine. Jag1718 01-17-2005, 05:03 PM it would depend on the head unit ur wanting to use. If ur wanting to use ur stock head unit, u need a line converter. An aftermarket headunit should come with preouts and the works. Anyways...I just purchased a 99 sebring lxi coupe and am looking to add an aftermarket headunit in there. I know i will lose my already installed amp and the dash speakers unless i get a line converter, but my question is how hard is it to get the stock headunit out ? I used to own 2 different 3kgts before and am used to premium sound systems with the amp under the passenger seat. Any help is appreciated. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
