Has anyone in here actually purchased a Skyline from Motorex or RBM? A registered, approved, legal Skyline? If so, post here or PM me please.

Out of curiosity, why are you looking for someone with a U.S. legalized Skyline?

I'm looking for people with legalized Skylines...preferably in SoCal for a few reasons...reasons that I only really wanna tell a person who doesn't care for Motorex too much. PM me if you're interested.

You want to look at their car and try to figure out what Motorex did, huh? If that's what you're thinking, it's been talked about before.

Don't forget to start another thread asking for people with a non-legal GT-R, so that you can look for differences. :cwm27:

It's a lot more complicated than that, but you got the main idea. I'd have no problem finding a stock GT-R. I think it could work, but I realize it wouldn't be easy, and Iv'e already encountered a few problems. Anyone else who wants to try this with me is free to. I'm still trying to figure out if there would be any legal issues. Lawyers are expensive :shakehead

Let me get this straight... you want someone who has a legalized GTR to let you take it apart so that you can try to see everything that needs to be done to legalize a skyline... :screwy:

I don't know about other people, but I would not let anyone take my car apart...

To be honest, it doesn't really matter anyway. At least two RI's have submitted Approval Packages for the GTR's and have been denied.

It takes about a year and a half from submittal to approval. The DOT is busy enough checking to ensure Mx is following all the rules. How easy would it be to miss a minor detail, which would set you back another year and a half.....(doesn't that suck?) The only reason RB would be likely to receive approval is Sean Morris's intricate involvement in Motorex getting approval.........

By the way....I do have a Motorex car, and like SF said, NOBODY is taking my car apart to see what they did.

if you guys keep up on sean, you'd know that his affiliation with motorex is not a point in his getting an RI.
the people he knew at the time he was with motorex aren't there in the gov't. now

from what i remember, sean said that they did have an RI, or were getting approved.
PM him for more info.

if your only reason for getting to look at one is to take it apart, have fun.

you did mention that you want to tell a person that doesn't care for motorex... tell them what?
that it's not that hard to get done?
i've got a friend in ohio that has one, and he waited a few months to get his r33...
but it's legal.
so it's the 3rd or 4th one in ohio...
fun.

Well there is that writeup that Mx did on how they legalized their own GT-Rs...so we would know exactly what and where to look on the car for modification. However, my cousin (and lawyer) says that even if we did perform the exact modifications that Mx did, I would have to PROVE that the GT-R I modified is in compliance...crash testing. So we are all back to square one. Bummer. God what I'd do with a lot of money.
