I have a 93 ford ranger that I just replaced the fuel pump on, but there is no sound indicating the fuel pump has electrical current. Does any one know how to work through this problem?

check the fuse, inertia switch, fuel pump relay and tfi module. also make sure the ground in good. the pump should energize for 2 seconds when the key is initially turned to run. usually the relay or wires to the relay are the culprits. i think you can use a jumper wire on the eec connector to energize the pump circuit but don't know offhand which terminal it is.
