Hey all, im new here and i have an idea that might make your head spin. My friend owns an '87 Grand Prix and he just finished putting in headers and his duel exhaust sticks out from the sides not the back...His main idea to his car is to make it a drag car. Now my friend drives this car like a stickshift but it is an automatic. He starts in first gear, then second, third and then overdrive. Constant abuse of his car causes him to loose second gear, by all means dont ask me how, and its a little bit hard to shift from reverse to drive. So he wants to replace the tranny but not another automatic. He want to back it into a stick shift. My question is...is it possible, i mean anything is possible but this? Now he might be able to swamp parts from a '67 Stingray, which is very likely. We are going to do all the labor ourselves and he is paying for most of the parts since ill be driving everywhere to get him things and etc. So let me know wut you guys and gals think about this crazy yet i think possible idea. lata days all

First of all the 67 Stingray was a rear wheel drive and the internal components where designed to acomodate a different layout inside the tranny. It would be easier to use a chrysler autostick tranny for this than cramming the Stingray internals in the 4t60e case. That is what I beleive
