I recently acquired a 1994 pickup 2WD with 22,000 miles and want to retrofit it with air conditioning. I was given two options: Use an aftermarket kit or get original parts from a junkyard. The second option theory is that since everything would be all Toyota parts, there wouldn't be as big an issue if there problems because all the parts and workings would be Toyota where if an aftermarket company goes out of business, how/where would you get replacement parts? Does anyone have an opinion on which would be the best method or pros and cons of either? Any feedback is appreciated.

Wow, a 94 with 22K on it, what a find. I would go with the toyota parts if you can find them at a junkyard, just be sure to leave the dryer in the old truck though. It sounds like this might be a hard job getting everything you will need. I have posted in another topic about using a product called Freeze 12 to replace the old R 12 that was used. You don't even need to retrofit anything using this stuff. Find out if that is sold in the state you live in. It works great and is alot cheaper that R12. Good luck.
