1996 jetta radio antitheft codeBountyHunta 03-15-2004, 02:36 PM I took the stock radio out and had to put it back in. Now it needs a code to fire it back up! Problem is, the code card was lost by the previous owner and I don't know the code. Is there any help out there? boschmann 03-15-2004, 04:21 PM You can try the long shot of looking on the side of the spare tire well if the pre-delivery mechanic left the sticker there or else you'll need to pull the radio & take it to the dealer to get the code. smiley herbert 01-22-2005, 07:33 PM the code for mine was on the back side of the radio moyles902 01-27-2005, 10:37 PM I have a 92 Jetta and my mechanic un plugged my radio. I have my code, but dont know how to get to the place to input the code. I have phoned the dealership and "VW Canada" they both told me i have to press a MODE button and SCAN button at the same time. the only problem is, i dont have a MODE button. If you could help me find my mode button, or get me to somewhere that i can input the code, that would be great. Thanks DYou can try the long shot of looking on the side of the spare tire well if the pre-delivery mechanic left the sticker there or else you'll need to pull the radio & take it to the dealer to get the code. boschmann 01-28-2005, 03:50 PM I think in some radios it's the seek & scan button. If that doesn't work try a few two button combinations (not the number buttons), it wont hurt anything. smiley herbert 01-28-2005, 07:38 PM In the operating manual for the sound system next to the place where the code has been cut out (as instructed in the manual) Is a note that the dealer will provide the code free of charge. I called VW America and they honored their word. The dealer had to pull the radio. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
