What will bolt into 84 CRX HF?chadwick4546 03-15-2004, 11:10 AM I have a 84 CRX HF, but the motor is blown. What engines will bolt in without crazy engine mounts? cvcc_wagon 03-15-2004, 12:34 PM any honda motor from 87 or earlier, or the 86-89 integra motor, look in my sig for more details (the first link, "D16A1" leads to a lits of honda engines) your engine is carb so i would be looking for another carb engine if you dont want to do all the work to convert to fuel injection jcrx 03-15-2004, 04:14 PM 1st gen ZC would fit in there, but it will hit your hood on the timing belt side, you'd have to cut the skeleton underneath. QuackerStacker 03-15-2004, 07:13 PM you should convert it to a FI 1.6 L motor i see that the zc might fit your car is all wheel drive right o man the fun with a turbo......:) QuackerStacker 03-15-2004, 07:14 PM but that is only if you have the heart and money to do it if not then just get the 86 carb motor JimCRX 03-15-2004, 10:15 PM Yeah I here ya. I have a 91 CRX Si right now that running good. But I came accross this 84 CRX HF and the body is pefect and I mean perfect, fresh paint job, no rips/tears/smudges/stains/nothing wrong with the interior. The engine is bad that was all and I bought it for $100. There was a tad of surface rust on the one wheel well which I am in the process of gettin it off. Besides that it's nice, just needs an engine. I'm looking into making it to the 1.6l FI d16y8 motor. I needa do some research. Is it possible for a D15 vtec motor to bolt in? I'm not sure but my friend had a 86 CRX Si which was a 1.5l. So they should be interchangeable correct? JimCRX 03-15-2004, 10:16 PM Sorry to confuse people, that Chadwick name was an accident. The PC I used was already logged on here lol. I'm the one with the 84 CRX HF looking for what engine to bolt in! :p cvcc_wagon 03-15-2004, 11:53 PM no B series engine will bolt in, no D series engine will bolt in except the D16A1 (86-89 integra), your friends 1.5 will bolt in. the best bang for your buck is the D16A1 (113 hp) if you are looking to do a performance swap and this post is full of information for that swap http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1629804&postcount=8 which is from this thread http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=199192 QuackerStacker 03-16-2004, 04:34 AM you should fo show do the FI swap to the D16a1 and take pics i would love to see it... JimCRX 03-16-2004, 11:12 AM D16A1 it is I guess then lol! I'm going on my hunt for that motor today, snow or no snow here in pa lol. I know of some junkyards that I had been to that have salvaged and rebuilt some acura/honda motors. I'm hoping I'll find a d16a1 there. Thanks for all the help guys and I'll keep ya updated on progess! cvcc_wagon 03-16-2004, 03:18 PM you will problly be best off if u get a donor car if you are going to convert it from carb to FI vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
