So can someone enhance me w/ their knowledge and tell me how u can have 12 valves ona 4 cylinder. thanks liquidflame8 03-15-2004, 12:27 AM you think that's a lot of valves? cuz the b series motors have 16 Miataracer 03-15-2004, 12:41 AM there are some 3 valve engines out there... not a lot but some i_a_n112784 03-15-2004, 02:04 PM Some cars also have 2 valves, and I'm fairly sure there is a european import (dont know who) that has 5. MrCrazy 03-15-2004, 02:11 PM is liquidflame8 trying to be a dumbass or what... liquidflame8 03-15-2004, 10:00 PM is liquidflame8 trying to be a dumbass or what... no i was just telling him that there are cars with more valves. the way he said it made it seem like he thought that 3 valves per cylinder was a lot but it's not. so shut your pie hole. mrlame Miataracer 03-16-2004, 02:50 PM actually he never said he thought 12 valves were "a lot" he probably just thought that it was odd to have 3 valves per cylinder instead of 2 or 4 halfricanTHUG 04-05-2004, 01:11 AM ya, i was tryin to ask if it was like 2 intake and one exhaust or 2 exhaust and 1 intake. but ya i wasnt sayin that 12 valves is a lot.payce Miataracer 04-05-2004, 12:54 PM I really couldn't tell you for sure but I believe it would be 1 intake and 2 exhaust valves. i am basing this off the fact that the hot burnt exhaust gasses expand compared to how they came into the cylinder... hotter molecules move faster and spread out more and all that other technical jargon... blah snowman2005 04-05-2004, 04:56 PM the new mustangs have 3 valves but tahts v-8. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
