I need Help from my fellow drivers
I have a silver P-10 1994
and I would like to upgrade to a new rim size and color
. Here is the problem I live in New Jersey and drive a lot to New York City (bad roads and pot holes).
I would like to move from 14" to 16" but I am think that a 15" would provide better cushion while driving in NYC.
Also what is a nice color rim for my p10.

A silver P10, I'd say silver, gold or gunmetal don't get bronze or white, too ricey IMO.

Is their any type of style your looking for...mesh, lip, no lip, 3 spoke, 4 spoke, 5 spoke, and so on...??? Any weight preferences??? Price range???

I feel you man I used to live in NJ six months ago ( Cherry Hill) in the south but I drove to Edison every day for work on the NJ Turnpike ( if you have never been there, the NJTP is like a freway full of potholes ) .. I always wanted to get bigeer rims but was afraid to mess them up in a pothole or car wreck .....

Now I live in Miami and now drive a silver p10 .... the roads here are smoooooooooth ... but the people can't drive for shit .... IT is illegal to drive without custom rims so I am in the same boat as you .... I saw Dodge Mini Van and a Domino Pizza truck with RIMS...

I almost thought I saw a guy in a wheel chair with rims ....

I'm actually lobbying to get that law passed. It will then be ammended by the "no plus sized wheels with out at least 1.5" lowering springs". :silly:

The new 2002 G's come with 16's. You should be OK with those. But the tire choice might be a little slim. I was thinking about 16's myself but I didn't find a nice selection of 215 width tire. :( I'll stick with 17's myself.

As for color if you wan't to stay low profile stick with a nice silver. Oh and stay away from 3 spokes. I'll be forced to nuke your car! :flamer: No self respecting G owner should have 3 spokes. :poke:

Well in Florida there is no State Inspection anymore, ( Much Different than New Jersey the Storm Troopers of State Inspection )...

I swear every Datsun B210 and and Chevy Malibu and Taxi cab has rims or at least hrome Hubcaps... when i get my digital camera back I was start a thread of the stuff I see here ....

There needs to be law though if you have 17's you must be springs like an arm backgroung check for buying a gun ... oooops this is Florida.. you can buy a gun a KMART with no liscence .... I swear there is a plaza where there is A Diary Queen and Rim Shop and a Gun Range within 200 yards of each other..

If you get 15" wheels, I say either 195/60 rated tires or 205/55 rated tires.

If 16" wheels, get either 205/45 rated or 205/50 rated tires. check out www.g20.net/rr_main.html both the p10's their have 16" wheels.

Stock P11 wheels look pretty good too. The new 16" wheels that come on the sport package are very expensive so you probably want to get the older 15" wheels.

I'd get at least 16" wheels if possible, should be a fine ride with the right size tire, potholes shouldn't be a real big problem.

Here's what the stock p11 15" wheels look like...not a good pic...

Hate to sound stupid, but ( too late ) at like 50 mph are the tries louder than the stereo or something ? I just ordered 17's and travel the highway for two hours a day ..

Thanks

well...it really depends on the tire itself...hard or soft compound...performance tires or just plain passenger tires, it all depends...what kinda tires did you get? and what size?

I got 205/40/17 I think there were called Kumho or something was not really paying that much attention to the brand. I gott hem as a Package with my Rims at local shop here in Miami. I will have them this weekend.

I need to get in touch with Luke to see if he can hook me with springs and shocks.... I wanted to do it all at once. I have a P10.

hey check here www.tirerack.com/tires/kumho/ku_712.jsp these are most likely the tires you got...it shows plenty of reviews and test results...seems a lot of people like them...pretty quiet also...let us know how you like them, like ride quality and handling, and how the wheels look on your G...you prolly wanna start another thread in the general forums, like a review thread or something, just a suggestion...good luck :sun:

Real intresting to read this forum and read the mail about
** Pot holes
** The do's and dont's that you are allowed to do on your cars.
I find it so hard to beleive that in todays world where the motor car is such a part of the day-to-day living that we have to put up with barstard pot holes and crap roads.
As for your size of rim etc...i would go for 16's with 205/45 or 215/45 if the road's are that bad.
Colour......gold on a silver car.
