hey, im new hear. i was wondering as to weather or not anyone has ever swapped a 94 roadmaster engine in place of the 92? i know the 92 is sopposed to have about 180hp and the 94-96 has about 260, thats quite a difference. more specificaly i was wondering about the eec of the 2 engines, and the fact that the 92 is cfi and the 94 is multiport. i could also do a intake swap, and maby heads off the 96? does anyone hear know what they changed to get that extra 90hp?

If you want the LT1 that bad, you might want to consider selling your car and buying a '94 or new RM. Seriously, there are a few people that I know that have done the 5.7 to LT1 swap, and it is a CRAPLOAD of work. If you are not comfortable with welding, wiring, cutting and otherwise extremely modifying your car, I wouldn't suggest it. If you want the performance of the LT1, you would be better off rebuilding your current motor for more power. It would be cheaper than doing the swap, and you would probably have less problems with your tranny (4l60) vs. the newer tranny (4l60e).

I agree. The 92 has TBI and it's easy and inexpensive to work on. The 94 and up is the LT1 and that's a whole different cat. The heads/intake won't swap because the LT1 is reverse cooling. Don't be too taken in about that 90 Horsepower. The big difference occurs at RPM you won't get to normally and the Torque (the important number) is very close. Do some mods (intake, exhaust and chip) and I bet you'll be happy.
