I have the OE cassette player in my sl. I'm about to buy a OE cd/cassette player over the internet so I can play CD's I burn myself. Does anyone have installation instructions for this? I think its just a matter of taking off the dash(which may been too hard for me to do), then just go work a few screws and plug a few connecters.

Anybody have experience with this?

Thanks

you shouldnt have to take the entire dash off, just the trim and side panels. even if you do, it's an easy process. you just need a complete set of tools. There are a lot of Torx nuts. But taking the dash off shouldn't take you but a few minutes.

there are a lot of installation kits, if you want to go that way, www.ashoppingparadise.com seems to have tons of them.

Anybody out there with experience in modding the stereo for 2002 SL2? Looking to replace the head unit for a first step and then take it to the next level with speakers and the whole shebang :) Interested in hands on experience with this model year and thanks to everyone with the later models, you guys have really given me a foundation to get started!

i have 1, itz not a huge task to remove the head unit, but i wud suggest getting a crossover for the stock unit, and getting the subs & co-axials first. ud save more $$$ and get some quality thump in sooner! then put the new head unit in.

no problem, to push pins on side of radio faceplate, and plate is out. two t-25 torx screws on top and deck is out. OEM cd plops right in with same harness and everything.
