Purchased a BMW Phone system with voice activation but no install manuals. Can anyone help with the install on my 2000 740Il?

I've read it's pretty much plug and play with a BMW phone but I guess you have to involve the phone company somehow. In the trunk of my '93 it says "Prewired for phone" so I guess something needs to be done in the trunk.
