Im Getting 20 MPG in my 95 aspire WHY?nose-gobblin 03-11-2004, 07:59 PM I have a 1995 for aspire, and it has about 90k on it with an automatic trany. I reciently have been experiencing bad gas mileage at about 20 MPG, this is pathetic, when i got it at 77k it was only getting about 140 miles per half tank with a ten gallon tank thats only about 28 mpg, But it is getting worse so i Replaces the following: Fuel Filter, Ait filter, Spark plugs ( bosch +4's), plug wires, and i think thats it. I have been making sure that i don't accerlorate too much, i have a sound system drawing power from the car but only 222 watts not much, not to change mpg that much, and I Am out of ideas, vacuum line? I AM LOST PLEASE HELP! nose-gobblin 03-12-2004, 07:52 PM I think i figured it out, i went to unhook a o2 sensor to replace it since that was the only thing i haddent done to fix gas mileage, so when i cut the wire to get the new one on, i decided to start the car to see if the engine light would come on telling me that something was wrong, nothing happend , so i asked my ASE certified instructor and he thinks that the computer is gone in it, Worthless now???????? how much to fix? please gimmie and idea Gr8ride 03-13-2004, 09:37 PM Howdy, I was able to get a rebuilt ecm for a 96 Aspire from a local Parts Plus store. It was $300 with a $75 core, or you can get one from Ford for about $600.
