I have the same problem on a 94 APV. However, since I had to take apart the linkage to get at the blower motor, the prob hasn't occured. I think it's mechanical. Even tho' they probably quit while you're on the highway, try pulling over and wiggling them up and down. I'll do that, too, if mine stop.

Hello, Yes I have had that problem. I first thought it was a grounding problem. So I grounded the wiper motor. Seemed to go away for about 2 weeks and then back again. I then bought a wiper pulse board from ebay and problem went away. The pulse board is on the motor and comes out fairly easy. Hope this helps!

Is this the pulse motor board you bought?

I bought one, hoping it would solve the problems I'm having with my wipers on my '95 Transport, but the mechanic I went to told me it will not fit my motor! I posted about this problem in the "Pontiac Transport" forum already.

I'm not sure if I believe the mechanic, although he didn't have any motive to lie to me... he even suggested I look for a rebuilt motor somewhere else, because he didn't have any - but he said that the pulse board I bought would not fit my van.

Hi, I've had it happen twice since my last post. Both times I pulled up gently on the driver side wiper and both times they started working right away. That doesn't rule out a dead spot on the motor but that would be pretty coincidental wouldn't it? I'd tend to believe a design flaw in the levers comprising the linkage as a more likely culprit. Next I'll lube the crap out of it and see if it ever happens again. Ever's a long time though!

Did anyone notice a "buzzing sound" when it stops?
That's what mine is doing.

The Lumina '95 (car - not APV) has a recall for BAD connector on wiper motor. Check it out, sounds EXACTLY the same problem.

I have this problem too in my '95 APV. I will take it to a dealer, perhaps they will fix it, hopefully, for free.

Had this problem with my 1995 apv. One day while traveling on the turnpike doig 75 and my wipers stopped during a downpour...I decided it was time to fix it. I went to autozone and bought a wiper motor. It's a little tight to work on, but after putting the motor in NO PROBLEMS. My neighbor used to be a GM technician and he told me this is an extremely common problem with GM vehicles.

The wiper motor comes with a lifetime warranty so if it does happen again...FREE.

It's been 2 years so far with the new motor and the wipers work beautifully.

Still, to me it seems like a bad contact at a connector than the bad motor.

It's the whole motor assembly. There is a circuit board inside the housing that goes bad.

Ok, I fixed it. I took the motor off, disassembled it and right away I found cracked solder around connectors. I resoldered 5 of them, put motor back. Works 100%.
