A friend of mine said they heard that the Aurora is going live. Not sure if they knew what they were talking about or if it was going to be carried by another Gm line.
Anyone hear anything?

The Aurora has been brought back as the Pontiac Bonneville GXP. This
car has the Aurora's overall design...DOHC V-8 (although the 275 hp
Northstar engine), and the 4T80E transaxle.
I have also heard that the Buick LeSabre will also get the Northstar
V-8. The good news here is that we Aurora enthusiasts will have
the chance to buy at least one GM car very similar to the Aurora.

I think it's the Park Ave and not the LeSabre which is going to get the Northstar, but you never know with GM...

the Aurora is gone, the GXP or LeSabre V8 are not replacements, those are cars that are living and being improved

the new bonneville uses the quality frame design developed for the aurora along with the suspension design. And now a northstar, sounds like an Aurora in disguise to me.

Lesabre, there is no worse handling car than that.

3 familes on my inlaws side drive that wallowing pig. The 3.8 is good, but the driving sucks.

I have driven vehicles with steering optional that corner better.

No wonder you have to be 60+ with alzheimers to drive one.

:eek7:Yes. driving a Pontiac has no fun and a Buick is boring, a Yugo would offer as much fun.

:smokin:Nothing beats a Oldsmobile Aurora, just ask those cops chasing that crazy lady that tried to jump of off the bridge. She out ran two Police jobs crusiers Ford Crown Vics, like they were standing still, going 105 miles.

Can a Buick or Pontiac do that?

GXP is the nearest thing to an Aurora.

The new Bonneville is no slouch either, not in the Aurora league regarding overall fit and finish, but its the next best thing.

Personally I would move up to the new STS (finally going RWD)

I'm with you on this - Driving the Aurora has spoiled me, I couldn't go down to another Pontiac now, the only way left to go is up to a Cadillac.
I like the STS a lot.
