95 Saturn. Need to remove & change door locks

Hi, New to the site and hoping to get some help. The door locks on my 95 SC are shot as is my trunk lock. Can anyone tell me how to remove them so I can replace them? Thanks

It not only is odd to have locks go bad so quickly, but usually the drivers door lock is the only one used enough to go bad. So I would suspect the key is going bad instead. Try the original spare. If you do not have that, they can recut one by code, simply by looking at the old key.

Thanks for the quick feedback. Unfortunately I tried the spare and it also doesn't work so I figure it's the locks. Problem is the dealer wants to charge me 125.00 for each one :(
I was going to try and remove them and replace them myself.

I am not familiar with Saturn unfortunately.
But all loocks except ignition are usually designed for easy change.
Some, like VW do not even require taking the inner panel off. There is just scew in the inner door sill on the older ones, and another under a removable handle cover, on the newer ones.
Others require removal of inner door panel, and then the holding screws will be easy to see.

Once you have the handle off, generally there is a screw directly into the back of the cylinder that holds the rotating cam on, and also is what retains the cylinder. Sometimes cars used a spring clip instead.

But unfortunately usually the cylinder will still not come out unless you can put in the key and turn it to the unlocked position.
You can try to manipulate the tumblers with a dental pick or something, while gently trying to turn the cylinder, and one at a time, the tumblers will stay in their recessed position. But you have to try all the tumblers, because you can not know with order they need to be manipulated in.

Finally, once you have the cylinder out, it will be obvious why it would not turn right. One or more of the tumblers will not be flush when the key is inserted.
At that point actually all you have to do is file down the protruding tumbler, and you can put it all back together.
There is no point in buying a new cylinder.
In fact, one or more offending tumblers can just be removed. Or you can move the tumblers around to match a different key if you want.

I would take proof of ownership and the vin number to the local saturn dealer and have a key cut (about $3.). I wonder if the steering column has been changed which would make the ignition and door lock keys different.

He's right. You have tounbolt the outer plastic skin from the door and take the lock out that way. btw. its a bitch getting those things out with big hands. and those cool aftermarket acelocks from pepboys won't work either. as for the back, just shave the lock off. they use an actuator and a cable for that anyway.
