a couple questions i was curious about...

1. i replaced my old stock spark plug wires yesterday...i originally wanted NGK wires but i couldn't find them anywhere...so my dad suggested Borg Warner wires...Pep Boys had 'em for like $50 so i got 'em and hooked them up...my real question here is, is there a huge difference between these wires and NGK? if so, is it worth it to take these wires back and look harder for NGK?

2. now that i have a new short block, trannie, clutch, and turbo, is it true that a short shifter will void all of my warranties on these parts? my friend said that it would...

3. last question that kinda deals with the first question...after replacing my wires yesterday, i ran the car without the spark plug wire cover and when i got home, the first wire was almost completely out. so not even thinking, i just grabbed it and barely pulled...it came out completely and my engine started chugging and running real rough so i quickly shut if off...could this have ruined anything? also why would the wire pop out like that? after that i put the cover back on, ran it, checked it and it was fine...

thanks for any help with these questions...

not sure about #1.

#2...
just replace the shifter back to stock before you take it in for any warranty work.
either way, there's a law that states that the modification must be the direct cause of the problem to be able to void the warranty. basically, if the short shifter didn't cause the problem, they can't void the warranty.

#3...
nothing happened. you just took spark from one cylinder so it was only firing on 3. no problems there.
the boot probably wasn't seated correctly. that's probably why it popped off. make sure you seat it correctly and put the cover back on. it looks better that way anyway.

1. only use stock wires, they are the best for our car.

2. any time a warranty is present, the issuer will find a way to make you pay, i.e.: 'your short shifter caused excess pressure failing the system, blah, blah.' so when it breaks [if ever] take it off and reinstall the stocker.

3. due to inferior wires, next time be more careful. probably didn't do any damage, just don't make it a habit ;)

The wires you bought will either work or they wont. If they dont, you'll wish you waited for the NGKs. I would only use NGK or stock, but if those work, run them till they dont :)

yeah these wires i got work quite nice actually...ever since i popped the cover back over them, they haven't given me a single problem yet...although i am still looking for a place who sells NGK :) also i had one more question that i forgot to ask....

this has even happened before i changed my wires...but when it's pretty cold outside and i start my car, it makes a sudden screech sound...kind of sounds like metal on metal...it doesn't do this when it's warm outside though...any ideas? thanks a lot for the help guys

I use Acell wires and NGK plugs, works great. Well that part of my car does anyway, can't say to much about the rest of it, lol.

That screech could be accessory belts, or shot bearings in the alternator or other accessory.
