Hi guys and gals,
I have been comtemplating enhancing my Ford Ranger.
My father has a 289 V8 that came out of a Mustang(which needs to be rebuilt). I myself am not an expert in engines(My father is). I am pretty sure that the 289 will fit under the hood, but my concern is about the tranny.
What are the odds that a new tranny will have to been installed as well?
If I need a new tranny then would that require a new rear end?
If anyone can point me in the direction to were I can find some answers I would be greatly thankful.
Thanks for any information

Hey, as for the engine, it will fit fine. People put 5.0L (302cubic inches) in Rangers all the time. You will almost definetely need a new transmission and im guessing new reared too, but i dont know enough to give you a definite answer.
