Would anybody happen to know the specs for the factory amp in the "premium" stereo system?

Hmmm.. that's interesting, in my 1996 books, it's not mentioned. I imagine it's around 15 or 20 watts max.

I was just curious. I'm just going to bypass it anyways.

I'm gonna bypass mine too. I put a new head unit in a while ago and left the amp in, so its twice the power (Old amp + new head unit's power) resulting in half the volumn range. My brother has the same head unit in his car with the same speaker set-up, and the volumn ranges from 1 to 25 where my speakers almost blow at 10.
