Today, I raced some dude off the line in a new Jaguar type S. I pulled on him and by the end of 2nd gear had 2-3 carlengths on him. Pretty funny considering some dude who paid 45g on a new jaguar got smoked by me in my $8,000 gsr with 90k miles on it. The jaguar type s has 295hp (the v8, it had dual exhaust). The I guess that guy will pick his races more closely next time.

No, it said "type s" on the back. I'm sure he was trying, and I'm also sure that he was pissed off after I beat him.

They arent that fast, a GSR can beat em, of course. Jags are not fast, not the 3.0 not the v8 but the Type R is very fast. Good kill.

a 300hp jag could not beat a 170hp integra gsr? and 2-3 car lengths...common now but im sure a v6 accord could beat a gsr right? or is that not possible either?

where the hell did you get type r?

The 2000 4.0 V8 Jaguar S-Type was a mid 15-second car. You are forgetting how heavy these cars were.

The newer, 3.0 V-6 S-Types are low 16, high 15-second cars.

Its a possible kill if the guy in the Jaguar was trying. Those cars are heavy compared to the 4banger GSR.

I don't think he was even trying. Jags have pick up on top end. Maybe you were just caught up in the moment to realize he was not racing. Plus if he was an older dude he wouldn't want to mess his car up.

Yeah theyre not that fast, ive driven a white v8 type S, i drove it for an entire day. The jaguar type R has s2000 performance.

This is actually the same person as thewoahna (my brother, who also goes on these forums, but I didn't realize I was under his name when posting). Yea carrrnuttt, that looks just like the car I raced. I actually didn't intend to race, he started it. I was slowing down next to him at a 2 lane stoplight. I was almost stopped, when the light changed and I had to go into 1st gear. My tires squeeled a bit (unitentionally, going normal speed) when the guy in the jag next to me looked over and floored it (heard his engine growl as he kept looking over at me). It was now (when he was about 1/2 carlength) that I realized he wanted to race, and I punched it (going about 10mph still in first). I pulled and stayed even with him through 1st, but pulled on him throug 2nd. I went over to his lane (the left) to avoid a truck in my lane (right). I was going about 70 then, and slowed down when he was about 1ft from my rear bumper riding my ass. After we passed the truck in the left lane, he quickly flew into the left lane, passing me at about 80-90mph. I didnt wish to continue racing him due to all the cops I usually see in the area.

Oh, and gsrs are way faster than accord v6's (not the newest ones, the 98 style ones). AV6's of that year run about a 16.2 quarter stock, gsrs run a 15.4 stock.

BTW- I looked up what the jag type s 4.0 v8 ran in the quarter and it was 15.5. I ran a 15.4 in my car at the track last summer (before my i/h/e) so I can see how I beat him. I was actually really suprised a jag with 295hp wouldn't be faster than my car. (oh, and all type s's come standard with a 6 speed auto I believe)
