55 chevy nomad , done with crayola colored pencilsKARTOONZ 02-22-2004, 09:53 PM I did this car at the drag strip a few years back . He was camped next to us in the pits , when he unloaded the car I just had to draw it . What ya'll think ? It was colored using plain ole crayola colored pencils , that was all I had with me that day :) .I thought it came out ok , tell me what ya think buds. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/8311155nomadS-med.jpg tokes99 02-22-2004, 10:37 PM What more can I say! You are too good, homie. KARTOONZ 02-22-2004, 11:06 PM Thanks Bro ! asaenz 02-23-2004, 07:23 AM Daa---ang that is awesome. I cannot believe those are crayola color pencils. What is the size. Sweet! Toonz what is your basic tech. for color pencils. Do you add many light layers to build depth?, Do you burnish? That really looks great. :iceslolan I am glad you posted that. I know many folks ask you to do tuts, but it would be great if you did one for color pencil. I think color pencil would be a better way to get introduced to color then w/ marker and pastel. The marker and pastel requires so many steps like /w all the masking/frisket film layers. Plus the prisma markers can really screw up a work due to bleeding or droping a marker on the work w/o da cap....oohh ouch...done that. Anyway take care Holmz Zcaithaca 02-23-2004, 02:54 PM wow thats amazing...especially considering you did that in colored pencil!!! is it just me, or does the front rim look a little off though? acoustic 02-23-2004, 04:55 PM maybe a off on the front and the back rims, but definately did not ruin the drawing. it is still awesome. very good KARTOONZ KARTOONZ 02-23-2004, 07:35 PM Thanks guys , My drawings are all freehand , I don't use any fancy tools or such, I like the free drawn look . As far as how I do it , yes it is light to dark layers ,I just kinda play it as it goes . I have used markers , but I like the way I can shade with colored pencils as to markers. Marker is permanent , cant turn back once its down on paper , where pencil is a little more forgiving . As for a tut. , well if I ever get the time , as ya'll know a step by step tut takes alot of time , I dont know if I'll even get my contest concept car done. I really would love to do one and I will when I can .So hang in there buds :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
