what up yall!!!! 1992RS 02-22-2004, 08:49 PM
Man, it's been a while since I've been on here, I've kinda missed all of you. Been a bit busy lately, opened up a business building and rebuilding engines, and doing some engine related repair work. Pretty good money. Today I started tearing out a 4 banger out of a 91 ford ranger. Man I tell ya, when ford does something they really don't think about us at home/ small shop mechanics do they? Wow, I about but a bullet through the whole damn thing. Don't know how often I'll be on here, but I'll try to check in more often than I have been. And if anyone's in the Jacksonville, FL area and needs some motor work, rebuild, or want a custom built engine done, just give me a holla, I'll beat any ones, and I do mean anyones price. Later yall. Hypsi87 02-23-2004, 12:30 AM Hey I rember you :icon16: .... Good luck on your business adventure. I was just wondering what happend to you, welcome back! PowerCrazy 02-23-2004, 10:27 AM hey 1992RS- i might have some business for you! i know a guy in jacksonville who is gonna be essentially restoring a 1976 1/2 (im pretty sure that's the year) porsche 924 and it'll almost definitly need some motor work. anyway, i told him about you and he was wondering if you had done any work on porsche engines before...... he's kinda anal about who works on his car. 1992RS 02-23-2004, 11:02 PM Well, as far as porsches go, I think he should take it someone who specializes in them. I don't think I have enough patients for that job..sorry dude. 89IROC&RS 02-23-2004, 11:47 PM so much for beating anyones, i mean anyones price lol, just givin ya crap man, congrats and good fortune on the new buisness. i can understand how that might be more important than us internet geeks ;) 1992RS 02-24-2004, 09:19 PM Hey there paying me to get all greasy. What can I say...LOL Well I can take any motor apart and put it back together again, but I can't afford the tools for some of them high cars. Plus I'm sure I'd have the deer in the headlights look while I'm trying to dismember, I mean dismantle the motor. LOL Chevyracincamaro 02-24-2004, 09:23 PM them crazy germans and their engines that are all, flat-like... 1992RS 02-24-2004, 09:27 PM Tell me about it.What do they call it? A pancake 4? or something to that effect. PowerCrazy 02-24-2004, 11:15 PM well the 924 is a more-less standard inline four, along with the 944 which is a beafed up 924 driveline with a slightly different tranny but same basic engine but a little tuned. the 968 also ran an inline 4 but that was highly tuned compared to the 924 and 944. what you guys were talking about with the pancake 4 comment is actually refered to as a flat 4 and it was used in the 914 and 912 and also i believe in the 356. the 914/6 and in the 911 and other such models derived from the 911 had a flat 6 which is basically just two more cylinders on a flat 4. but then again porsche also had had the 4.8L (i think that was the displacement) v8 that was in the 928 that hauled ass. - i guess that's the porsche lesson for the day (I feel akward posting this in a camaro forum) 1992RS 02-27-2004, 09:02 PM Holly shit dude, I think that's more than I ever wanted to know about porshe..LOL Now I deffinatly don't want to work on one. 1992RS 03-12-2004, 03:00 PM Well yall, still looking for some more engines to perform surgery on. business is going pretty ok. Just finished up a job a couple days ago. Mostly just stock rebuilds. I want a custom job. Some one needs to send me a tired 350 that needs a lot of love. LOL I did however just finish a 400+hp 305, 335 stroker for those of you who get offended by me calling it a 305. It's amazing. This one is carbed, stuck a holley 700 vacum advance on top of an edelbrock performer rpm. she purrs. :D I need more like that. 4 cylinders are boring. Oh well. Just thought I'd check in on you guys and make sure your not starting any trouble. LOL Phylum 03-12-2004, 10:55 PM Hey 92, I'll send you my v6 2.8 and you can work your magic :) 89IROC&RS 03-12-2004, 10:59 PM lmao!!! damnit gen, where are ya man :) Genopsyde 03-13-2004, 12:42 AM right here, why? 1992RS 03-13-2004, 09:27 AM umm...ok ridge_runner 03-13-2004, 11:30 AM hey 92 you have any more pics of that camaro, like the underbody and chassis and all that good shit, i need to get some ideas on how to get mine reienforced, and the driveshaft loop and the cage, thanks ridge_runner 03-13-2004, 11:35 AM o that has a tube chassis by the look of it 1992RS 03-13-2004, 12:02 PM Sorry man, I cheated this time. This is just a pic of a camaro I found online. It looked bad ass and I've never popped a wheely that big before. Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
