so....thanks to that guy who recommended JNS imports, i in the process of purchasing a Skyline r32 GTS-4. I was looking at body kits for r32's and 33's and was wondering, how close the body styles were between the r32 and the r33. heres some pictures....

r33 GT-R

r32 GTS-4

looks like the only difference (that i can see) is that the hood on the GTS-4 needs to be chopped back a few inches....or you couldnt simply mount a r33 GT-R hood. any ideas on this situation? the next thing on the list besides the body kit is a RB26DETT engine. The 4th picture is a r32 with almost the exact same front bumper....but and im wondering if i can order the r33 version (so i have the grill there) and the bonnet hood, and if it will mount on the r32.

p.s. that GT-R has the body kit i want to get (veilside r33 GTR CI model....combat kit i believe). side panels looks so smilar as well as the trunk and hood.

There are some clear differences in size between the non GT-R R32 and R33 GT-R. For example, the R33 GT-R is about four inches wider than the R32 GTS. You'll have to figure out how to deal with that and the other dimensional differences. I'm not saying putting the R33 GT-R parts on will be impossible, but it could be pretty expensive...and possibly not worth it.

Here's more dimensional info, taken from Carfolio.com

R32 GTS-t
Wheelbase 2615 mm/103 in
Track front 1460 mm/57.5 in
rear 1460 mm/57.5 in
Length 4530 mm/178.3 in
Width 1695 mm/66.7 in
Height 1345 mm/53 in

R33 GT-R
Wheelbase 2720 mm/107.1 in
Track front 1486 mm/58.5 in
rear 1490 mm/58.7 in
Length 4675 mm/184.1 in
Width 1780 mm/70.1 in
Height 1360 mm/53.5 in

R33 kit will not fit on an R32
If you want an R32 bonnet with no nose - swap for a 32 GTR bonnet

Despite some visual similarities, the R32 and R33 have very different bodies and shapes. I'm not saying that you can't do what you want (anything can be done), just be aware that it will probably involve a lot of body work and won't be simple.
I've seen a drifter with an R32 in Japan that had installed the entire R33 (non-GTR) front end on an R32. So the dimensions have to be somewhat simuliar. As far as what work was involved, alot more then it looked I'm sure.
As far as bolt on mod, I would go with jamezilla, do the R32 GTR front end conversion. You can do more then just the bonnet, you can swap the entire front end so that you have the widebody front fenders. Then get a blister kit for the rear fenders. Seen this swap done it it looks quite nice.

before ive put my money down on my skyline, ive still been desiding on the gts-4 or the gtr r32s. i am more than likley going with the gtr...and some guy told me that an r33 non-gtr front end would fit with minimal body work to be done. i still dont know. this cars for shows so the work doesnt matter to me, only the finished product.
