1986 Ford Ranger 2.3L Fuel Injected. Replaced head with new one, replaced all gaskets, new spark plugs, wires, distributor, rotor, PCV valve. Truck will crank but skips badly and won't stay running. Sounds like not firing on all cylinders, but it's getting fire from the wires. Help please, have tried everything I know. Haynes book not much help.

Just a guess, but sounds like a timing problem. Were you real careful to line up all the timing marks?

Sounds like you have the firing order wrong. Make sure the wires go to the right holes!

Got it fixed!!! Turns out the new head was bad. Valve was warped and threw rocker arm, hence no compression on #3. Shop replaced head and I installed the 2nd head. Truck runs good now except a little low on power. I've still got to install new cat. converter (may have something to do with power) and tweak timing a little.
