Cassette Stuck Question

This is really dumb but I have a cassette tape stuck in the GM (non-Bose) radio and can't get it out. Does anyone have a simple solution before I try to pry it out. When I push the eject button it makes a noise like the thing is in fast wind for a few seconds then stops. CD still works ok. Thanks

I had to use a screw driver once to get one out and oh yay that was the last time I used that damn thing. Their decks are known to be crappie because I have problems with the CD ejecting from time to time also. The damn thing doesn't even hardly every read CD-R disc either. Arrgghhhh!!!

My Aurora, non-Bose, single CD / cassette player regularly holds a CD hostage for two weeks almost to the day. I have got used to not using it for that reason, but when I did, almost everytime I played a few CD's, when it comes time to eject, it won't open. If I continue to press the "eject" it displays an "E23" message, if I remember correctly, which means your screwed.

When it happens, I don't get out the tools. I wait. There must be a bug in the computer because it's like an error message cancelling after so many key starts. The tray opens totally by itself when the radio is tuned on on is it is on. The car is driven daily to work so it two starts a day plus a few miscellaneous. Cimes out to tw weeks.

Anyone experience anything like this?

I used a butter knife when the rollers stuck in a tape once. It worked pretty well to slide in under it without me worrying about busting things up too bad.

My wife just listens to CDs. I never could get the tape out. It looks like the unit has to come out but I am not ready for that yet. Thanks.

That's a great idea. I'll pass that on to my son. He has that problem in his Honda.

Thanks, Rick

Another thing that may work is to uplug the radio's wire harness for a few seconds and then plug the wire harness back in and shabam the tape and CD should eject right away. I just had to do this about a month ago because they were both stuck and would not come out after 3 weeks. Just another suggestion.
