well redneck(of course  ) was deff right, its not nascar, and i'm not sure why the lady told me that, but it is some kinda junior league or something, its only in the northwest and you do get paid for it, but after all the stuff he was telling me about it, i don't think i wanna do it. i mean all the responsiblities and i'd have to take off everyother friday of work in order to do this. i just don't think this is something i wanna do, too much work and sacrifice. now i actually feel kinda dumb even thinking it "might" be nascar :banghead: thats like someone asking me if i wanna tryout for the sonics next week :bricks1:

Aww man, sorry to hear that... Wish I wasn't right for once.

But don't give up though, strange things are afoot at the Circle K.

Dude, if you want to go pro, this is how you start. You start small at a local track and usually with your own equipment. You're damn lucky to be offered a ride in a touring series without prior experience on track.

You go out there and turn some heads, run strong and adapt quickly, maybe win a couple races and turn some top qualifier times, and you'll get noticed by an ASA, Busch North, ARCA, or USAR Hooters Pro Cup team, and then you'll end up running with them. From there it's Craftsman Truck, then Busch, then Winston Cup.

ooops, NEXTEL Cup.

It's a feeder system that takes years to move up through, and if you miss a couple years you're officially hosed.

Good example: me. I was in quarter midgets and winning, and they were talking about moving me up to micro-sprints and TQ midgets. I was eight and there were guys talking about lining me up for future USAC rides. People were talking Indy.

Then I crash, break my collarbone, lose my ride, and get forgotten.

Now I'm where I'm sitting now, preparing to spend next weekend gutting a Lebaron to run a local short track's spectator stock division. My hopes of moving up aren't too terribly bright unless I make some serious waves and don't spend too much time in the spectator stocks.

Take the ride and don't look back. Trust me, if you have a chance this golden and you pass it up you'll regret it for the rest of your life.

Lord knows I regret going over the turn two guardrail at Killidare.
