wtf is wrong with my car

Alright! First of all, i have had nothing but problems with my car. Within the first two weeks that i had the car, i dropped a new transmission in, cost about $2800. Not even a week later, my engine light came back on. Six different codes popped up so the dealership put a new computer in it. Meanwhile, when i accelerate, i was getting a miss and a popping sound out of the airbox. The miss is happening all throughout the rpm range. So i replaced the plugs, wires, and the throttle position sensor. Well, none of this helped at all. So i put some seafoam in the gas tank. Even worse. My check engine light came on and the code was the EGR valve. I took the EGR valve out and cleaned it, put it back in. No check engine light since, but still having the missfire and popping. Can ANYONE give me some info about this problem?

The popping could be a coil module going out. This can cause missing on acceleration.

If it misses at idle find out which cylinder it is and then switch the offending coil pack to a different position to see if the miss also changes cylinders. If so then the coil pack is bad. I had a 92 Pontiac Bonniville that went through coil packs like candy! Good thing that they are easy to diagnose and change.

Not sure. It should be set if you are having a miss fire condition though.

im in the airforce, i think i might just fly over the car and drop a 500lb bomb, that would take care of all my problems. I wonder if my insurance covers that?

Heh, come to think of it mine didn't last the first day out before it died at an intersection- stuck EGR valve.

holy shit, it was the coil packs, all of them were bad, go figure. I check the continuity of all the old ones and they were 5.6. The new ones were 8.5. Yeah, my car is finally fixed (knock on wood). Thanks guys!

i haven't had any problems with mine yet. something was wrong with the power steering when it was cold, but that seems ok now that it has warmed up. i hope i don't jinx myself saying this.
