Swap EG3 to D16Y8Marissio 02-17-2004, 05:42 AM Hi Honda fans :smokin: What can you say about this swap and engine? I have a D13B2 (1.3 16V) engine in my `94. civic hach. I bought a D16Y8 (1.6 16V V-tech) from `98. Civic. The swap will be finished in this days  I will have OBD1 comp. with this engine. In the future my project will be a turbo charger for my new D16Y8. lewdaka07 02-17-2004, 03:04 PM hey that sounds great.... o by the way im no newbie me and lewdakao3 are the same i jus forgot my password and i changed to DSL so i dont have the same ISP.... That d13 prolly had u in the 18s.... but with the d16y8 should put in the low to mid 16s stk and running right... its a nice upgrade too for a budget... GScivic7 02-17-2004, 05:19 PM Yah, the Y8 is a great engine for a budget swap. Boosting a D-series motor is so easy now with the Edelbrock and Greddy kit for them. Marissio 09-20-2004, 04:08 AM Well, my project was finnished long time ago. My Civic runs very well, I made a HP test - 136Hp. Impressive. Main Parts: * D16Y8 Engine * D16z6 Intake manifold * D16Z6 Wiring (engine) * D16Z6 ECU (Spoon chipped) * D16Y8 Distributor So far all is o.k. My auto runs very well, but I have a BIG problem: The CRANK POSITION SENSOR is going out of order (ECU shows the CODE 4). I will try to ilustrate the problem: When my auto is hot (temp. NORM), and I`m not push the accelerator (~700rpm), my Civic is working for some seconds and then suddenly stifle. I turn on the Ignition and the Civic is working again. I have change the CP sensor and my car was o.k (no ECU error codes) for a 1,5 monthes and now, the same situattion. So, My technics can`t help me. PLEASE help with info. I think there is a problem in Wiring. Some thing is wrong, but I don`t now what. Please post or send me by E-mail a WIRING DIAGRAMS FOR D16Y8 and D16Z6.
