2002 Civic seat belt pillar

I bought my Civic EX sedan in August, 2002. I don't have a long commute, so it only has 13,350 miles on it. But today I took it back to the dealer for the third time to have the driver's side seat belt pillar molding reattached. I think I'd had the car for less than a month the first time I noticed the pillar pulling away from the wall of the car.

Has anyone else had this experience? It makes me very nervous to think that the piece that attaches the seat belt to the wall could come loose so easily. A friend bought an identical Civic a week before me, and his passenger side pillar has come loose twice, so I know my car isn't the only one with this problem. I'm curious to know how widespread the issue might be, though.

Thanks!

Yep, I have 2002 honda civic ex sedan also...and I noticed the same problem about 3 months after I bought the car....I popped it back on myself and that was the last of it.

If you popped it back in yourself, you must be far more talented than I am. I tried and felt like I would have been OK with an extra arm or two. But I find it interesting that yours stayed once you put it back--unless you're a mechanic, in which case I wouldn't be too surprised. I'm disturbed that mine has come out three times, though, after being fixed by the dealer, who presumably should know how to fix it, twice.

Wow. Just curious, did you push it back in yourself, or actually try to fix the clip?

I don't have trouble with the seat belt buckling, but I'm really amazed by the fact that this pillar issue obviously is not an isolated problem. Any suggestions on what to do from here?
