What would a 95 Civic hatch w/ an H22 run? I am purchasing an LS1 Camaro and plan on racing somebody w/ one real soon. He is an asshole and thinks him and his civic are untouchable. With all due respect I would think an LS1 corvette motor could pretty much handle any civic with any stock engine. I know the Honda forum is going to of course say the Civic, but keep in mind I am looking for honest answers from respected enthusiasts and not the usual forum propoganda, and will appreciate the first. Thanks a lot.

I've seen an H22 Civic in very low 14's (quarter mile) in a 96 hb before. And my friend has one in his 95 4dr; think his best was around 14.5 with LSD, cold air intake, header; on a cold ass night.
Personally I have no idea who'd win. I don't know how much hp the LS1 has, so I have nothing to base an opinion on.

If he knows how to drive, and his motor is installed right and running well, you will have a very hard time shutting him up. H22 hatchs are very capable of low 13's high 12' with very few mods.

sorry but you would get ur ass kicked. My friend has a h22a in his 96 accord, and he can beat camaros, mustangs, firebirds, and a shit load of fast cars. His engine was dynoed at like 245 hp so good luck. Plus he isnt that good of a driver. He even kicked my ass in my other friends turbo(11lbs??) b18a. and i am a good driver.

h22s are not anything near stock. There from a prelude. And stock is nothing near this so dont bet money cause ur gonna get ur ass handed to you!

BULL-fuckin'-SHIT.

An Accord is a FAR cry from a hatch weight wise, and even in a hatch an h22A isn't going to slaughter any V8, beat sure, but not by bus lengths or anything.

i never said the cars were v8s?

Plus eveything in the car is stripped out. Plus the bumper reinforcements in the front and back were too. ( i dunno why hed take them out thouhg)

When you say "Camaros, Mustangs, Firebirds and shitloads of other fast cars" what do you expect people to assume? And the V6 and fourbanger versions of all those cars suck ass, so who cares anyway.

:iceslolan The words have been taken out of my mouth.

Yesterday I raced an F4 Phantom fighter and won. It was on display at the airport, propped up on metal supports with no jet engine. :grinno:

I knew this would start a firce debate... just for the record, his HB is pretty much the one in the above post's picture, only red. He has no weight reduction as of yet (back seats etc all still in) and I said stock because it is still a factory spec aka stock H22 (I know he has not modded it cause he could barely afford the swap as it is). The only thing he might have is exhaust because that was on his car when it still had a b16. I have heard that stock non-modded h22s dyno at 210 or something like that, but i don't really know, that is why I am asking the Honda forum. But just to let you guys know, the LS1, the V8 found in a $40,000+ sports car (corvette, but not Z06) was rated at 350hp. The same engine in the Camaro was rated at 310HP. Now this is obviously an under-rating because even with super-restrictive intake/exhaust, accessory drain, etc, you could not rob this engine of 40HP. Right from the factory they dyno at about 300 at the wheels (you can ask in the camaro forum if you wish confirmation), which is about 330 at the fly, which makes more sense in comparison to the vette. I plan to do intake, exhaust, and pullies right away, but don't even take that into acount, I still don't see him slaughtering me. The Camaro weighs someone around 3300lb, what does the HB? 2500lb? So you guys tell me

The hatch in my sig weighs 2045ish, and with a H22 will run constant low 13's.

Tell me more about yours???

02-16-2004, 08:38 PM
i think you should win.. although ive seen some street driven hatches running 12s/11s with H22s, a stock H22 in a hatch should be quick, but not THAT quick. LS1s can hit 12s bone stock. its rare, but it happens. look for low 13s stock

Joseph1082
02-16-2004, 09:19 PM
Hey, kidrocket, thanks for the realism. I haven't even bought the car yet (put down a deposit) but I doubt I can break into 12s, I guess I'll fall into those low 13s. BTW my opponent is most likely a better stick driver than me (he has way longer experience). Can you guys give me some numbers for a hatch w an H22, HP? TQ? 1/4?

I've got a JDM h22 in my 91 accord but i haven't taken it to the track yet to see what it'll do. I also haven't raced any LS1 cameros but im guessing you'll take him off the start because you'll have quite a bit more tq but once he hits 3rd gear he'll probably start pulling on you. I bet it'll be a good race..and theres my 2 cents

CivicSpoon
07-25-2004, 05:01 PM
after 5 months he's probably raced by now. You have to look at the date of the threads; right below the post counts.

H22AccordEx
07-25-2004, 05:08 PM
you'd think if he raced him then he would have posted it by now? your still posting so why do ya care?

CivicSpoon
07-25-2004, 05:20 PM
he probably wouldn't have posted because he probably hasn't come back to the forum, he has a camaro not a honda; so why would he come to the Honda forums??? I'm posting because it's common courtesy to not bring back old worthless threads; but a newbie like you wouldn't understand that. And if I didn't say something I guaren-damn-tee someone else would have.

God you are a cool guy. You could have just left it alone when he said it was an old thread. See, there is a difference when he told you (nicely I might add) that it was an old thread and showed you how you could stop from making the same mistake in the future. However, I assume that since you are a NOOB you didn't take the time to figure out that no one likes it when you revive an old post such as you have done. Plus you probably felt like an idiot when you realized that he was right? Anyway, after you became stupid and began to pathetically throw insults around it became ok for us to post in this thread to call you out on what an idiot you are.

BTW, I don't have the Miata anymore, I have a GSR swapped Civic that will probably take down your h22 Accord. (if you even have one?) So what is your point anyway? Do you have a problem with Miatas? Are you one of those stereotypical small minded ricers that thinks Miatas are gay? People that have driven Miatas understand what they are really capable of. Sorry son, you lose again. It must be hard for someone like you who sucks at life.

CivicSpoon
07-25-2004, 09:30 PM
I'd rather drive his miata than your slow ass piece of sh*t accord. It's annoying because people who come on here and try to help other or learn new info have to see old threads, thinking it's something new; but really it's some jacka$$ newbie who doesn't know any better. And at least if you're going to bring back an old thread have something useful to add that would be good for archives when searching for info, not "i think you'll win", because no one gives a sh*t what you think.

Spoon civic your the god damn nub cuz you replyed to my post...why are you giving me shit if you did the same thing? Based off of a quote from another thread of yours it sounds like I could take your car down with 3 extra passengers and the A/C on. LOL But yeah, good luck with your wounded H22.

\/ Here is quote \/

i've got a 93 JDM h22 in my 91 accord and it hasn't been running very well lately. It likes to stall once its warmed up and the idle will drop real low...sometimes the rmps with go back up and other times it will just stall out on me. It also doesn't feel as smooth or as peppy as it used to...

Is that just some word you made up to make yourself feel more intelligent? And what the hell are you talking about getting e-mails? I don't get e-mails from posting in threads. Both those things prove that you're just some f***ing moron little kid that doesn't know what you're talking about and doesn't know any better.
Oh and I guarentee I could beat your slow ass in my 94 CX little boy. :lol2: YES I said my CX; a stock 70hp motor. You'll still be at the light spinning your tires while I'm an 1/8 mile up the road little boy :screwy:

small world...
I just got a camera from some guy hanging out by the railroad tracks near Shit Creek, Arkansas. I was sleeping in a boxcar and he traded me a nice digital camera for two bottles of Pabst Blue Ribbon and a pair of toenail clippers.
Figure I can trade it for smack once I get to the big city...

lamehonda

guess Ill have to get a few bottles of pabst and a couple of toenail clippers If I want my camera back. I don't think that I could get you the smack tho. I will be at the depot when you get to the big city.

PS. How are the internet connections on boxcars these days?

BennyBakwood007

in my opinion it all depends on where and how u race...at a drag strip u should win with very few problems, but on a highway or populated road it depends on your driving...i have a 97 EX with a few engine mods and ive beaten people in mustangs, 350Z's, camaros and an array of other pretty fast cars...its not cuz my car is faster then theirs, but im a much better driver than they were..so if u really want to win your best bet is at a strip unless you are supremly confident in your driving abilities..this is just my opinion..take it how u like

lamehonda
07-27-2004, 02:32 PM
....or cause they aren't racing

Kafziel
07-27-2004, 02:35 PM
ha ha yeah for some reason people who aren't racing me are always the easiest ones to beat.

funny how that works
