Is it a kill if its less then a carlength?alphalanos 02-14-2004, 11:01 PM there have been 2 races i was involved where one, against a 2.0L honda accord pulled away and i was on his back bumper, and another when i had her all the way to about 70 then she just crept by me. i dont really race alot so...my car is an 02 Lanos 1.6L i lost to them basically bc i just dont have the torque. Chavez408 02-14-2004, 11:13 PM good try  and good kill :) and to answer your thread tittle question: Is it a kill if its less then a carlength? "it doesnt matter if you win by an inch or a mile, WINNING IS WINNING!" -The Stig- 02-14-2004, 11:14 PM Less torque than a Honda? Impossible. If they went past ya, then yeah It's a kill for them. But hey, it's all in fun. J_Swigz 02-14-2004, 11:34 PM dude, you should totally make your Daewoo a sleeper. Yes I mean this seriously. You'd get so many people to race you, unsuspectingly, and you'd own them thereafter. Just a thought. And yes, to reiterate what has been said already, winning is winning. mynismo 02-15-2004, 12:34 AM Less torque than a Honda? Impossible. http://northeastnissans.com/images/334200_12_full.jpg TatII 02-15-2004, 12:46 AM you know what races i love? the fender to fender races. i would sometimes lose by as little as a front bumper. but the people from behind thinks i won. but i'm not cheap like that and i tell them that i lose by a bumper. 2000LS1Z28 02-15-2004, 01:23 AM I feel very fortunate. All the modded Hondas haven't touched my car yet at the track :) Then again my car isn't stock either (I decided to keep it, and now have a bunch of suspension goodies geared up for off the line acceleration). As far as winning is concerned, I think even an inch counts. That is just my opinion though. Heck my best races were with my slowest car (A N/A 87 MR2). LjasonL 02-15-2004, 05:01 AM Nah. Gotta make it count. mustang372004 02-15-2004, 02:16 PM personally I love close races when your going and your side by side and one person slowly starts creeping away gotta love it. alphalanos 02-15-2004, 03:46 PM yeah my heart rate must have been about 190 after those races, lol. they were alot of fun. regarding the sleeper comment, when I told those two people that my car was a 1.6, their eyes almost came out of their sockets. :sly: its all bc of the weight of my car, ~2600 lb. i would love to make it a sleeper but cant bc: 1. its under warranty 2. its only worth like $4,000 (yes its an 02 worth 4G) if i had the money to fix the car when it broke, id make it a sleeper. the most i can really do if i wanted to is get a custom intake made, custom headers and piping all the way back, theres not much else i can do that i wont get bitched at about. :banghead: oh well. my next car will be the one i work on, in a couple years. Max Boost 02-15-2004, 03:59 PM It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or mile, as long as your floor board doesn't fall out when you hit the NAWZ. alphalanos 02-15-2004, 04:05 PM yeah ur diamond plate floorboard and the washers AND bolts just suddenly fly out and somehow a 2x2 sheet of steel manages to rotate end over end while under an Eclipse that is about 1" from the ground... i could go on for days. Turboaddict 02-15-2004, 10:41 PM where do you live? daewoo went bankrupt. your warranty is worthless. my friend has one and can't get parts. she knows people that bought them a week before and there car went to crap and now they are stuck paying 14K for a car they can't get parts for. it suck big time then again if your not in the US then your okay. marcus 2000LS1Z28 02-15-2004, 10:59 PM Oh man, I feel for you Alpha. I don't trust any starting company with a car, especially a Korean based car (Not that Koreans are bad people, but we all know what happened with the introduction of the Hyundai Excel). Basically you might as well take the $4K for it. Heck I can show you a Honda Civic DX you can buy for that much. Then just save up for a B16a motor. This post isn't meant to make fun of you, I just can't stand starting car companies that are financially challenged. The consumer will be hurt by them the most, not to mention the lack of aftermarket support. I lost $8K on a car once (Don't get me started on the Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo I once had). Polygon 02-16-2004, 10:43 AM It doesn't matter how far ahead you are, if you're ahead its a kill, plain and simple. alphalanos 02-16-2004, 01:55 PM actually i just got back from my dealer. theyre ordering some new lights bc mine have moisture in them. which is my fault bc i put in new bulbs and tried to rip off the lens to paint them. but they dont know that and you also cant tell anyway. :smokin: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
