GScivic7 02-13-2004, 02:27 AM Was this the first time you were driving on it with the new tach? Have you went past 4500 rpm with the new tach installed before this? snowman2005 02-13-2004, 11:54 AM i had just installed it the tach and it was my first run with it and my car is adx so it didnt come wiht a factory tach GScivic7 02-13-2004, 12:04 PM http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=66776&highlight=Tachometer+install check out that thread. Read my response in the thread that's in the link above, that should show you how to wire it correctly. Sounds like either you have it wired wrong, you don't really have it set to 4cyl inside the tach, or your tach is just bad. Check the first 2 because I doubt the tach is bad. snowman2005 02-13-2004, 09:12 PM aight i hooked up the tach like the instructions said and i set it to 4 cly like the instructions said. i hooked the green wire to the blue wire behind teh cluster like everyone says but now it says it idles too high i think im gona try to go to the distributor (-) wire maybe it ill work SilverY2KCivic 02-15-2004, 12:41 AM aight i hooked up the tach like the instructions said and i set it to 4 cly like the instructions said. i hooked the green wire to the blue wire behind teh cluster like everyone says but now it says it idles too high i think im gona try to go to the distributor (-) wire maybe it ill work Did you make sure it's the correct blue wire? Should be on the left hand side LARGE harness. Before trying the distributer, try the RPM diagnostic wire that's blue and ends to a clip over the driver's side shock tower. snowman2005 02-15-2004, 01:09 AM i got teh tach working and all the wires hooked up thank you for ur help really apreciated SilverY2KCivic 02-16-2004, 03:21 AM i got teh tach working and all the wires hooked up thank you for ur help really apreciated Coo, glad to see you got it sorted out. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
