Help for 1987 Corolla that's totally shuddering while moving. Could be oil?

Hey guys,

First post, and I need some serious help. The car (87 Corolla) started shuddering when it hit 100 km/hr. Two days later, it was down to 60km. Finally, the oil light came on, so I went to a garage to discover that the oil tank was TOTALLY EMPTY. Like, NOTHING. Even though I just got a service two months ago.

Anyway, I added oil, but the car's getting worse. Now it's starting to shake at 40km. It's not just in the steering - it's the whole damn car. Feels like I'm getting an ass massage or something. It's been about three days since I put the oil in, but no joy.

Don't kill me for a dumb question, but when a car runs for a while with no oil in it, does that totally kill the engine? Am I going to have to replace the whole thing? Any advice/tips would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

It may not be the engine causing the shaking problem. My 94 corolla shock at 55 miles an hour. Changed the transaxles and it drives like new.

my corolla's front wheel bearing broke into pieces and caused the car to shake violently at 45mph

Thanks so much for the replies, guys. You've calmed me down considerably. I'll get the axles checked out ASAP. I'm glad to know I haven't fucked it up completely.
