Hey Guys!
I am in desperate need of a very large aftermarket/performance alternator for my 1994 Talon. I would prefer to not pay much money at all, if anyone if parting out a talon, or has one, or knows someone who has one, or can get me a good deal on one, or has any other suggestions...please let me know. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks y'all!

bighauns;
Ok, just what are you up to? Why do you need a large after market alternator?

I can't think of any reason at all that you would need anything other than a stock alternator. You have two choices:

1) Get a rebuilt one at your auto parts store (about $100-$120..the advantage is that it comes with a warranty, new bearings, and you can count on it for years to come

2) Pick one up at your local bone yard for $10-$20. Advantage is it's cheap, disadvantage is it's a ticking time bomb, you never know when it will fail.

Yeah, that is totally what I was thinking. Thanks. The reason I need one is because I co-own a car audio sales/installation company here in town, and we are putting a rather large stereo in my talon...kinda as a show car. And with the stereo I have now it is dimming my lights...the stereo I am putting in will have over three times the amount of wattage and even more draw, so...yeah. That is why. Thanks again!

ps. If anyone has one for sale....let me know!!

LOL!
I can just picture you cruising down the street with your tunes cranked and the headlights dimming on every deep bass note!

Hey I like your entrepreneurship there, put a deep cycle battery in you car, they are typically used for boats but work awsome for car audio perposes ;0)
