My seat belt will not release from the take up section on the passenger side. I thought that maybe if I gave it some slack by taking it loose from the bottom of the seat that I would be able to get it to release. No luck; now the entire seat belt is coiled up in the take up section. I then thought that I would take off the seat cover to see if I could press some sort of mechanism to get it to release. This doesn't really appear to be a viable option from the way the seat is made.

Do you know of any button or other mechanism that can be accessed from the hole where the seat belt enters the seat that can be depressed to allow the seat belt to release? Thanks in advance for any insight.

i had the same problem on the driver side, unfortunatly ,i had to completely remove the entire seat cover to get at the mechanism and then figured that it was an electrical gadget of some kind hooked to the winder.it was either replace this gadget or remove this relay or selenoid or whatever it was.seeing as how i had no money ,well, you can figure what i did..oh by the way,you cant get those trim rings off the seat without destroying their ability to go back on as good as they were.they arent replacable as a single item either.youll have to get a whole new belt..good luck

There's a connector and wire that may have fallen off the reel.

Had the same prb. The connector came off. put it back on and everything was fine.

May I ask where this connector is located?
