How many people own a Maxima here?
I want to know.

I don't own a Maxima, but I did shop for one and consider getting one a year ago when I was car shopping. They have a strong suit in the form of their engine, which receives top honors from numerous sources every year. I went with an Acura Integra GS-R.. and just for bragging rights I've never lost a race to a Maxima!!

As soon as I finish paying off my wifes car I will either get a 92-94 Maxima SE or a Integra GSR sedan (94/95). That will be about 5 months.

Right now I have a crappy Accord. :)

But anyways, my mom owns a 1995 Nissan Maxima SE (Automatic). Even though it's an auto I still love the car! 190HP is plenty of power for this car and the 222/226HP is even better!

This car pulls very well and it can whoop up on some of the sedans in it's class. The car is just truely amazing!

Goto my webpage, I had a GSR before the Maxima. You obviously haven't raced the right Maxima. Mine runs a 14.7 right now, which is pretty damn strong. That's full interior, normal shifting, and non-aggressive launch. I also have every option except autotranny. That includes dual power seats and all those options that make the car weigh more.

I just got my first car, a 1995 Nissan Maxima GLE. I love everything about it. Wouldn't drive anything else.

Maxima is a wonderful car, with the best v6 there has ever been.

i currently am wrecking people at redlights with my `93 Maxima SE - white exterior/beigh interior - automatic transmission and fully loaded. car only had 40k miles on it when i got it and now its got 57k. sweet ass first car.

Wow the 3rd gens are coming up. I personally fell in love with the 3rd gen SE when it came out. I got a ride in a 92 SE 5Spd when I was like 10. The guy also had a non-turbo 944 and I was more amused by the Maxima. Ever since then I've known the Max's were potent automobiles, and when the 190 HP 3rd gen came out I was like damn. In 1995 when the Motor Trend Car of the Year was given to the Maxima I was like, "WOW, 0-60 in 6.7 seconds, that's CRAZY fast." In 97 I rode in my first 4th gen, a 97 GLE. Wow boned out and was so smooth and quiet.

Why all you guys that's originally from the org change names lol....well I have a 90GXE and I love it and a fourth gen 5sp and I love it even more...but can't deny that those third gens are built better..

That look like a TRENZ billet grille. I saw some info on it in www.trenz.com.

Count me among the lucky ones. Just came back from the dealer who handles oil changes on a no-charge basis. I'm starting to feel guilty - nothing ever goes wrong with this rig and they must be running their service department for free. 90,000 kilometers (60,000 miles) of fun filled trouble-free motoring thus far.

I did own a 96 GXE 5 spd. It was really cool until someone pulled out in front of me and it was totalled. I looked at buying a new one, but the 5 spds. are just too rare and hard to find. Anyway, I bought a Prelude SH instead this year, and I like it too, I'm pretty sure a Max would beat it in a straight line, but I think I could out handle one.

Its an automatic, but I drive stop and go for 20000 miles per year.

The rimz where 450$ /each + tires 200$ /each = 2600$ total, inc. delivery , locks. Expensive shit. I didn't get a sound system because of those rims. Still worth every penny :)

well when you go BMW Benz, the price of rims goes way up, I've seen $2000 per rim before for 20" BBS on a BMW *sigh* I could have a new car for the price of the rims and tires

It might be not that expensive but for a 20 years old student, who works for the ride and the mods (YES WORK, hehe) and have to pay for college it "seems" to be :)

What the fuc* is wrong with the automatic gear boxes ??? It's much safer and functionnal. I wish that the GLE would come with a 5 speed gear box cause it's a totally diffrent feeling of those 190 ponies under the hood but the autos are still banging. If any 5 speed maniacs say that autos sux, then come and live in a city like Chicago and fuck around with the gears every 6 seconds, + try this shit in winter going up on a hill with a 5 spd and an auto (in traffic). So all ya haters think twice before you say anythink. Thank ya'll.

Buying a 2002 GLE in 3 months... only thing I don't like about them is the back.... the sunken in look of the lights makes it look sort of weird.

I have a Black 97 GLE Max AUTO ... i didn't hook up my max at all yet... it's too much money for me.. heh.. but i did get 2 12' HOLLYWOOD... and an amp... how did u hook up ur system.. and does it sounds tight? ... mines a lil messed up somewhere.. maybe it's jus the rattling noise in the trunk... but i jus got it a few days ago..

MY next step is to get the clear bumper lenses / custom red-clear tail lights... where do u get the clear corners? i do want my corner lights to be brighter ( without cuttin' the wires )

i gotta 94 se auto. i hooked up 2 10" kicker solobarics and a 800 watt rocksford fosgate amp to my stock head unit. and super blue head light bulbs. it sounds good but needs better door speakers for better sound quality.

i run a 1998 maxima gxe auto. i used to have a acura and the difference is worth the extra money. for audio i have a custom fiber- glass trunk with the subwofer flushed into the spare tire hole. i run a square 15in kicker sub with 1500watts going to it from a memphis amp. and that think shakes. cold air intake and soon to be lowered. stock rims from the anniversary edition maxima. love it and would not trade it.
(except for a 2002) Man those are sweeeet!

98SE 5SPD

I just picked up my '02 Sterling Mist SE last week. The car is fully loaded with navigation and the six speed transmission. I've put about 200 miles on it and really enjoy banging the gears and harrassing sports cars with my four door.

Build quality is superb and this automobile is equiped with everything you need and then some. Hats off to Nissan's Carlos Ghosn, job well done!!!

The car's only faults are the suspension needs a little more stiffness for my tasts, it tends to nose dive during hard braking. The rear suspension should be independent, but I'll accept the weight savings of the multilink. While front wheel drive is nice up north, there's nothing quite like hanging the rear end out, maybe next time around guys?

I came over from Ford, over the years I have owned a great many blue oval products and have been happy with them. My wife and I have had several Mustangs and the garage is now occupied by our 1967 GTA fastback. We also have an Explorer Eddie Bauer. When my truck was showing it's age, I decided that I wanted to replace it with a nice car.

I shopped Ford, Lincoln, Lexus and Honda before walking into a Nissan dealership blindly. The salesman showed me the Maxima and we went for a drive, needless to say I fell in love. My car's MSRP was $32,400.00 and I couldn't get a Lincoln LS for that kind of money with the same features (i.e. navigation and a six speed manual and 255 hp). Besides the Lincoln's build quality was questionable.

I would have liked a Taurus SHO, but they don't make that anymore.

Anyway, happy to be here!

Well about the LS Lincolns, My aunt bought one last fall, 01

new, v-6 36,000 with the sport option, wheels. First thing

when I seen it I though it was awesome, until I drove it. When

you put it in drive and give it the gas, it thumbed before going,

its been back for the hood repainted, drivers door, and the headlights

had to be replaced. It was not very quick either. :(

I got a 95max se and love it,it got 100k miles and still no problems, I put a 97 grill ,97 headlights, clear corners,17inch stock 20 anniversiry polished 2001 maxima rims, stillen intake,and a bangin rockford phosgate system.

I used to have a 5spd 96 rice burning civic hatchback and the maxima is no comparison besides the difference in insurance,gas milege,luxury,looks,and speed:devil: :smoka: :bandit:

My Grey Lustre 2K3 MAX SE 6SPD is a week old - 750 miles on it and just did first oil change (Mobil 1). 250 more miles and I'm off my gentle break-in then I can REALLY enjoy it.

:) got myself a 2K Max, not a lotta mods and a slushbox :( but nevertheless its' still a Max. Mods like I said are few, for now, I will Mod up da Max lata>got a K/N filter and a Tornado Air system.

yeah the hood scoop worked when i had a short intake(filter inside engine bay)but now i put my place racing back in so the scoop is just for looks now. when i had the short intake withe the scoop i did notice more miles to the galon....couldent realy tell when i raced..

You absolutely right, but like I said, I agree but she don't >:( sorry but you know how it is>gotta keep da wifey happy:D. Anyway I content with the Max and after I finish doin the mods and all it will be faster than the G, it might not look better, have rear wheel drive and be bigger but it will fly and will still have the exclusiveness of the Max.

i have a black 98 SE automatic. i love everything about it, i just wish it was a 5 speed.

The VQ30DE is my engine of choice, it has in my opinion the best potential as far as overall quality and overall moddin' potential. Needs a kit though, but all in all it's a great car w/ 5spd.

I got a 98 SE that i picked up back in febuary, fully loaded, its navy blue, i have not seen many that color, so far i have Eibach lowering springs "Pro kit", Stillen intake, diamond cut clear bumpers, L.E.D. side markers, Gen 1 Altezzas, 2 12" R.F. "Punch" subs, 760 watt Pioneer amp, double din Pioneer head unit, custom painted power window trim, bezel, door handles, & all on center dash to match outside of car.
