I have a 93 trooper with a long crank. I've changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, and tried injector cleaner. If anybody has any help, it will be greatly appreciated.

OK, I figured it out: long crank = hard to start. Right? You might make another post and put it that way--I suspect most people think you have and engine with a long crank shaft. Also, it would be nice to know if it is hard to start both hot and cold, and how it runs once you get it started. And what finally gets it started. To start you need gas, compression, and spark at about the right time. If you have too much gas (are you pumping the gas pedal) you drown out the plugs and then the engine has to turn over enough to dry them out). If you are getting too little gas compared to the amount of air getting in the mixture I would suspect a really bad vacuum leak from the intake manifold or from one of those hoses running around all over the place under the hood. If you are getting a weak spark (or a spark at the wrong time) I would suspect your coil, condensor, distributer rotor, or the cap itself, or that your timing is off--this will only have happened if somebody adjusted it recently.

I have a '93 Trooper and the long crank that I was thinking of is... some times I turn the ignition and it takes a few seconds longer to kick over and start than others. Its kind of sporatic and doesn't happen just when its hot or cold... still trying to figure out the pattern.
