65 skylark g/s 425cidritterdean 02-04-2004, 01:58 PM so a guy is trying to sell me a 65 skylark (numbers matching) with the original 425cid engine with dual quads. i say no way.. am i right? thanks MagicRat 02-07-2004, 01:51 PM You are right. The engine is not original to the car, and is probably out of a Riv or Wildcat. I think 'numbers matching' is bogus too, if it is a 425. All GM intermediates were not available with the big V8s until 66 or 67. So the biggest original engine for a Skylark was a small v8, (330 or 340 I think) Still, its a rare intake and would be a worthwhile car, so long as the asking price is not too high. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
