make it a sleepergearsforbrains 02-01-2004, 04:12 AM ok now i know alot of u will laugh but im going to actually put money into my aspire , since it has gotten me around for so long and been a great car i want to give back to her , so im doin an engine swap so far the only engine ive found that will most likely work is the 90-92 ford probe gt engine , which is the same as the mazda 626/ mx-6 with the sohc since im thinkin only a sohc will fit , im wonderin if anyone else had any engine suggestions for my aspire , oh yeah i dont plan on keeping power steering or a/c. since im going to chop the top anyways , so if u find an engine that barely fits remember im not keepin the luxuries ex.a/c power steerin , thx everyone for any info pod 02-04-2004, 10:25 AM well they have put mazda 1.6 turbos in festivas so i wouldent doubt that you could put one in www.fordfestiva.com/ you could e-mail the guy then theres www.festivamotorsport.com/ aftermarket parts chrislm2600 02-13-2004, 04:03 PM i'm trying to dig up info over here this is the thread http://pub14.ezboard.com/ffordfestivaaspirefrm40.showMessage?topicID=317.to pic jeffescortlx 02-20-2004, 03:06 PM The DOHC 1.6 Mazda Turbo and N/A fit's nice, in fact in one of the later issues of either "Turbo" Or "SCC" they had a Hybrid how-to on a Festiva. But there is a guy at Escortracing.com that has a Turbo's Escort GT 1.8 DOHC in his aspire, I guess it's pretty crazy, run's 13's with no traction. FastTeen 02-24-2004, 04:21 PM there was a magazine that actually did that. i can't remember what engine it was but it was a mazda turbo 4cyl and they gave step by step how-to's on how they did it. jeff foxworthy:" yes sir i would like the rental car insure. becuase i see a little ford aspire there in the parking lot that's gonna get airborne!" vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
