I have foggy headlights in my 93 bird. Does anyone know how to get the damn things off? My father thinks that i need some special tools or something. Any ideas?

haven't had reason to change mine, they haven't yellowed. Is the fogging on the outside of the lens? If it is, try using polishing compound on them with a high speed buffer. Amazing what comes off. Go to progressively finer grade compounds and they may clean up well.

Foggy as in moisture. Moisture on the inside of the headlight. I need to take the headlight off. My friend has a civic that had a fogged up headlight from moisture, and he took off the whole headlight, and then filled it completely with water to find where water could have possibly got in, and then he used plumbers sealer and sealed the headlight, and then got the shop vac and put it in the holeto get all the moisture out. He set the vac in the hole for about ten minutes. Works like a charm.

My friend used 409. He says that he sprayed it on, let it soak, and wipped it off and it worked. He repeated the process a few times. I personally have not tried this, but it may work.

I think the 409 thing might work.Just dont try any really harsh cleaners that have to be diluted, they'll just make the problem worse.I did something else. The headlights looks pretty much new now..You'll need some very fine sandpaper.Plastic polish(I used this red bottle that said MOTHERS Plastic Polish),then plasticizers.(Clear Armor-All or tire polish.Try not to get the milky one).First you take the headlight(s) off. Then you start sanding a small layer of the inside and out of the cover.Dont go nuts.Rinse and wipe dry. When your done with that, use the plastic polish as the bottle tells you to.inally you can spray it with the Armor-All.In the end you can see really small scratches pretty much up close, but the headlights will be much clearer.
