Tamiya Toyota SupraCosworth 12-28-2001, 04:20 PM I don't think anyone has done a report on one of these yet, so here goes :) I've just finished the rear suspinsion :) This is my first ever kit :smoker: Guiddy 12-28-2001, 04:56 PM Are you painting it? Cosworth 12-28-2001, 05:03 PM If you mean the body, Yes. I'm doing it in the same color as it came in, hence why I never bothered to paint the under side. awaken1973 12-28-2001, 05:08 PM Are you painting it? When I was doing my first kit RX7 I forgot to paint bottom of the car and thought of it AFTER all suspension and drivetrain details was painted and attached. My wife fixed the bottom not too bad. She is better with brush than me http://images.fotki.com/free/e2fd/1/11197/62393/RX7under-or.jpg Guiddy 12-28-2001, 05:52 PM I am shocked by both of you! I have that kit too Cosworth! I plan on black with aftermarket 18" rims, lowered suspension and modded engine bay! (If I can find some parts!) Are you doing the US version, Japanese version or the Euro model? Cosworth 12-29-2001, 01:55 PM I'm going with the US version. I was suprised at how low the car is, Don't think it would need lowering. Guiddy 12-29-2001, 02:11 PM Originally posted by Cosworth I'm going with the US version. I was suprised at how low the car is, Don't think it would need lowering. That surprises me! I am going for the Euro version as you get the hood scoop and the deep chin spoiler! I'll have a look at yours when you have completed it and then decide on the lowering! Keep up the good work! BTW, where abouts in England are you? Cosworth 12-29-2001, 02:18 PM I've thought about it, so now i'm going with the Euro version :D I'll post a pic in a min.:) And i'm from Gloucester, South West Guiddy 12-29-2001, 02:24 PM Originally posted by Cosworth I've thought about it, so now i'm going with the Euro version :D I'll post a pic in a min.:) And i'm from Gloucester, South West I knew you would see the light! We (Steve G, myself and the crew!) have been down in Cheltenham for the rally quite a lot! That's about as near to Glouchester as I have got! Cosworth 12-29-2001, 02:43 PM If thats as close as you have got, you've been lucky ;) :p Heres just a quick pic to show a bit of progress :) Guiddy 12-29-2001, 02:56 PM Do you have any nicer wheels? The standard ones are a bit tame! Cosworth 12-29-2001, 03:50 PM Well, I've got some off a WRC focus that went a bit wrong so all the bits have gone into the parts box, but they stick out about 0.7mm :( Guiddy 12-29-2001, 04:17 PM If you saw how much the wheels stuck out on my Celica, you would have been amazed! You have to file down the disc, as you can see by the black bit in this photo. Therefore you are bringing the wheel further into the arch. If it is too much for a first project we understand! But it could look good! What colour would you do the wheels? I see Chrome or Dark Silver as per the box! Cosworth 12-29-2001, 04:25 PM I like the idea of fileing the disc away a bit, I'll have a go at it later tonight, then post the results up :) Cosworth 12-29-2001, 05:09 PM I've done the on side, and it's looking pretty damn good!:) see pic..... pkw1 12-29-2001, 06:23 PM wow.. keep up the good work guys :) i like your labtop cosworth by the way ;) Cosworth 12-30-2001, 10:06 AM Thanks pkw1, call me Nick :) At the moment i'm airbrushing the interior:) Pics later....... Guiddy 12-30-2001, 12:41 PM What silver are you going for Nick? Are you going to use Halford's cans? Have you decided on a colour for the wheels yet? Cosworth 12-30-2001, 01:29 PM Well, i'm off to halfords tomorrow, so i'll get some primer and maybe get the 'grayish brownish silver', I think thats what the paint is called, but I might go to the model shop to see if they have it in stock, i'll look up the code later :) in the mean time the interior is in, as well as the motor, not to sure about the engine really, looks a bit crappy :( D16 V-TEC 12-30-2001, 03:53 PM That looks really cool! Can you take an overhead pic of the engine? Looking good so far :). Cosworth 12-30-2001, 04:20 PM Here you go :) it looks a bit worse from this angle as well:( primera man 12-30-2001, 10:29 PM Looks to be a nice fit into the bay and can allow for plenty of detail. D16 V-TEC 12-30-2001, 10:52 PM Looks like an awesome start. I love the engine :D NismO_VspeC11 05-25-2009, 05:05 AM Im Thinkking of Buyying One of These!
