Hey guys, I just got my SR20DET/GTI-R engine that came with an AWD tranny. I know I can't use the AWD tranny on my Sentra E. Right now my Sentra E is stock and it has a 4 speed manual which I would have to change out anyways. What type of transmission do I need? What kind of cat-back exhaust manifold can I get that would fit my GTI-R? I just want to make sure it fits the car as well as the engine. By the way I just installed a KOYO Dual-row radiator...I figured since I am going to install the GTI-R, this would help a great deal to keep temps in the norm. instead of waiting for an overheating episode. Any suggestions and advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

You basically need the front-clip of my car (B13 SE-R), minus the motor.

Axles, mounts, tranny, ECU (reprogrammed for boost by JWT, preferrably), and wiring, I believe, is what you'll need from a car like mine.

I think you can also adapt G20 parts and stuff, but getting B13 SR20 parts should make it easier.

I would suggest getting a 3 inch or larger exhaust to prevent excessive back pressure if I were you. I think the Greddy is 2.5 (correct me if I'm wrong) and this would probably not yield good results. Might be better to get a custom exhaust from Stillen er something. Also, I think a Hotshot cold air intake would be a good choice for performace. Other than that, upgraded ECU, ignition, plugs, possibly a high performance cam (good luck finding one) and pulleys are all ok if you got the loot to support it. I would concentrate on suspension too because that E will be squeelin and swervin all over the place with the stock suspension.

Ok, my mistake. I was assuming he was still going to use the GTI-R engine.

Hey Datsun83! It's been a while since I visited, man. Well, just want to give you and everyone else an update on my project E. Got the GTI-R motor in (changed motor mounts to Energy Suspension Poly's) and did all the neccessary front clip part swaps including a SR20DE 5-speed Transmission. All I could say was WOW! What a big difference from my tiny GA16. The first time I took it out, I think I wet myself. You were right about the stock suspension, HAHAHAHA. So I did a full suspension upgrade to support that beast under the hood. Changed out all of the rubber bushings to Energy Suspension Poly's, Springs and Shocks. And since I had the suspension apart, I went ahead and did a front brake caliper swap from an NX2000 and rear conversion (drum to disc). Also changed the brake lines to steel lines and upgraded the rotors to cross drilled. Huge difference compared to stock as usual. Custom Mandrel Bend Exhaust Piping with Tanabe Racing Medallion Exhaust. Project Complete. Next Level, conversion to AWD??? Nah, I'm going to take a break.

slideways...
