97 Ranger thinking about adding PS and AC

I have a 97 Ranger that does not have Power Steering or AC.
How difficult would it be to add those myself? I am not afraid of the work, unless it is something a specialist should do (AC?).
Also, what costs can I expect? Are junk yard parts a valid option?
Thanks...

Power steering requires a bit of work, including installing a new steering box, pump, hoses etc. The engine should have a place to mount a pump, but doing the steering box could be a safety issue so I would have that done professional.

As for the AC, there are a lot of things that need to be installed. Compressor, evaporator, drier etc, and that can be rather expensive for parts. You will also need to consider whether or not your truck is capable of accepting AC. You can determine this by looking at a similar truck with AC and comparing it to yours. there should be a set of connections on the firewall relatively close to the heater core hoses for the tubing to run through to the duct work. Otherwise, it will take quite a while to retrofit an AC system to your vehicle. Take it by an AC specialist and see what they have to say. Best of luck

like he said. also, if you think you can, get a closed system (don't take apart any houses or connections) from a junkyard and put it on yours...migh save a few bucks
