1997 wrangler. Engine cuts out while driving. Wait a minute or two and it starts again. Problem continues. Temp has dipped here to 40 below. Added drygas but problem continues. Been told to change the fuel filter, and lots of other things. Filter is in the gas tank. What else could cause this problem?

If the issue resolves even temporary with no changes it is definite it is electrical.

The next issue is it fuel or spark related.

A spark tester or a sparkplug connected and the case grounded will show if there is spark.

If there is spark I would guess there is a fuel relay overheating due to amperage draw on the fuel pump.

2/04 update
The Jeep went to the Jeep dealer shop. Had diagnostics run and had a tune-up. Replaced the gas filter and regulator. The engine still has a problem here. It did not completely die out, but the power was diminished to the extreme of having to pull over and get the heck off the road.
