Here's a photo of my new stuff. Now you can see why I need to lower it so bad.

Dooray 18 X 7.5 w/ 42mm offset and Toyo Proxes FZ-4 245/40-18. I stole them off ebay for next to nothing.

that doesn't look like it needs to be lowered that bad. i've heard that much bigger tires on 18"s will cause problems with weight and acceleration. i overall think those look pretty good.

Thanks. But a little lowerin' wouldn't hurt none. These 18s made a HUGE difference in steering response.

so, how's the ride? It'll be even worse when you lower it.
Get it low enough and you'll be bouncing going over a quarter.

I haven't noticed any difference in the ride. Of course, I have only put about 15 miles on it with this setup.

eibachs are supposed to help with spring bounce compared to factory from what i hear.

If you have not noticed a ride difference going from a 60 series to a 40, then you're not real picky about the harshness over all the little road imperfections. That's a good thing. I would like to go to a 17"/50 aspect combination, my Dad has that on his new Concorde, very harsh. I could'nt tolerate that for a little better look on the Rora.

Well now that I have driven to work and back a couple times, I do notice a difference. Its a little louder and stiffer, but it also has much more accurate steering and better handling. It was way to cushy before, now it seems just right to me.

Yeah, I think I just got pretty lucky. I think I was the only one to bid because it was kind of a weird combination of wheels and tires that wouldn't really work on many other cars.

Oops, and also is 42 mm the optimal offset?

Yes, -42mm is the sweet spot for aftermarket rims. They will stick out a little wider than stock without stressing the spindles and/or related components.

$350. Wheels in great shape and the tires have about 50-60% tread left.

Well, actually now I have decided to sell my car. So let me know if you are interested in the wheels and tires for the same price I paid for them($350 plus shipping).
