hi, there,

i have a 99 elantra with 115,000 on it now...so i'm starting to consider another car.

really, no complaints about the car (if you don't count what a pain it was to try to get the thing serviced at the dealership)...but i obviously drive a LOT, and i was really disappointed at how lousy the thing is in the snow. anyone know if they've made any improvements on the newer elantras?

boy, how i miss my 1986 brat... ugly and rusted, and i bought it with 110,000 on it--but it could go through anything. :)

Hyundai's quality has improved greatly over the past few years. As far as driveability in the snow and such, I can't answer that since I haven't driven an older one. I am the parts manager at a Hyundai dealership in Indianapolis, and as time goes on I see less and less major problems with any of the cars. Either that or customers are taking their cars to other dealers. We used to do a Hyundai automatic transmission about every other week, which made for some good money for me, but I haven't had one come through needing a transmission since September. I just ordered one for '01 XG300, but that is the first one I've since in a along time. I just bought my wife an '03 Sonata LX last April, and the only problem she's had with it is the chrome peeling off the drivers door handle, and she's already put almost 30k miles on it. I would say it is definately worth looking into getting another one.
