Hey, a friend of mine has a 98 maxima and he found a way to attatch a performance intake filter (k&N cone filter) right to his o2 sensor box by removing the stock air box. does anyone know a way to do this to a 98 neon rt?

With a Caravan intake tube.

What's an O2 sensor box, and why would you want to connect your intake to an exhaust part?

I thought you could make an intake out of a 3.0 Avenger intake tube, or something. Maybe it was a Caravan intake, like MStout said, but that doesn't sound right.

o2 sensor boxes monitor the amount of oxygen ENTERING the engine, therefore, it is not part of the exhaust system, buuuudy.

o2 sensor, intake. oxygen sensor, exhaust.

O2 sensor = oxygen sensor. And yes, they are in the exhaust. There is an upstream and a downstream, cyberlord.

Look it up sometime... buuuuuddy (rolnaldo). ;)

? What "sudden knowledge"?

I just want you to explain what an O2 sensor box is, because I'd love to hear it. Maybe you're confused with a Mass Air sensor (which the Neon does not have), Idle Air Control, or something, but there is no O2 sensor in the intake tract on any car. O2 sensors are always on the exhaust side, and I was wondering why anyone would want to connect anything intake-related to anything exhaust-related, except of course the EGR system...

You're welcome. :)
