I used your original image. Any problems, let me know. http://community.webshots.com/storage/1/v0/8/13/12/28681312GZNqnJtkTI_ph.jpg This is fun. VW_Redliner 01-06-2002, 11:56 PM I don't mind I took it from some website. What program did you use? I'm curious? Thanks elron 01-07-2002, 12:36 AM VW_Redliner, I used PaintShopPro 7.04. Photoshop is too big for me. VW_Redliner 01-07-2002, 12:46 AM That's cool. I might have to get the program. I like photoshop but it is more difficult to use then the paint shop pro series. elron 01-07-2002, 04:21 AM Photoshop is a great program, (I have a copy) but for general hacking around, PSP is just so much easier to come to grips with. It's got all the functions, and more, plus its a lot smaller and faster. Mind you, any one comfortable with their editor - and there are quite a few - will think theirs is pretty good. adux 01-09-2002, 12:10 PM Goosse 01-10-2002, 10:58 AM My try at photoshop Goosse 01-10-2002, 10:59 AM original jinushaun 01-12-2002, 10:59 PM Here's my very first attempt at modding a car on the computer. Thanks Nick Edwards (http://www.nickedwards.net/)!! I did this 99.99% in Paint Shop Pro, which I like more than Photoshop. I started in PSP, tried my hand at Photoshop--failed miserably. I thought this might be the opportunity to take advantage of PS's "superior" features. Whatever. I went back to PSP. Tried to give PS another chance... failed again. PS sucks to use. jinushaun 01-12-2002, 11:01 PM This was hard, as the front spoiler was a completely different color and had very bad lighting. Mods include: MVR front spoiler Painted moldings Blue front indicators Lowered jinushaun 01-12-2002, 11:17 PM Btw, I chose the 2002 3er because I wanted to see what it looks like modded. crxlvr 03-08-2002, 05:08 PM how do you do the lighting effects on the headlights and the top down like that? jinushaun 03-09-2002, 11:07 PM Originally posted by crxlvr how do you do the lighting effects on the headlights and the top down like that? NOW, make an second fill patern only this time make it a medium shade brown. It should look identical to the one on psjunkie.com, but it will be brown. So you should have 3 layers: One with a desaturated hood with the cruves (curves= IMAGE, ADJUSTMENTS, CURVES) set a little darker OR a lot darker in some cases, another layer with the black fill patern, then a 3rd layer with the brown fill patern. Next is to shrink the fill patern layers (brown and black) down to where both over lap the entire hood layer by about an inch on all 4 corners. Next is to use the twirl filter located in the distort section of the filters. Set the black layer to twirl one direction, then set the brown layer to twirl in the oposite direction (youll see what im talking about when you try it). Once your done twirling.....go to edit, transform, distort, and distort the brown and black layers to where all corners of both layers barely hang over the edges of the hood layer. After this is done, set both layers to multiply. Here is where a lot of trial and error is done. Lower both of the fill paterns (brown and black) opacity to about 20-50% (opacity is located in the layers box, and make use your on the correct layer before you adjust the opacity). Again play with the opacitys until each layer starts to look the way you want it. Example: set the black at 70% and the brown at 20%, or vis-versa. Theres infinite combinations you can use, try a bunch, youll learn quickly what looks good and what looks bad. Note: never adjust the hood layers opactiy. Now you should be in the ball park of what Im talking about. Theres still more though. If your hood isnt looking to great at this point, change either the brown or black fill patern to an overlay, ONLY one not both. (this freature is in the same box as the multiply filter). Try diferent combinations here also, its never the same on ever car. This means only one should be set as an overlay layer and only one should be set at multiply layer. Again play with the opacitys just to see what happens. Next delete everything, according to the psjunkie tutorial tells you how to and your done. SuPeRcAr_MaN 01-18-2003, 10:02 PM Damn, nice work guys... :flash: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
